Buying guide

Which number should I search for?

Use the model number on your filter or appliance—not a serial number or an order number.

Start with what you have

If you have the old filter, look for its model or part number. If not, use the appliance model number from its identification label. Enter the complete number, including any letters at the end. A receipt, retailer SKU or serial number may identify a purchase or individual appliance rather than the replacement you need.

Similar numbers are not the same answer

Keep a photo of the label nearby so you can check characters such as 0 and O, or 5 and S. FilterAnswer can normalize spacing and punctuation, but an uncertain character should lead to confirmation—not a silent guess.

HVAC filters

Start with the brand and part number on the old filter. If you only have a printed size, look for the filter cabinet’s model number, where available, and check the equipment instructions for its replacement size and allowed filtration rating. The printed size may be rounded; actual measurements can differ. MERV is a filtration rating, not a size, and a higher rating is not automatically suitable for your equipment. A matching size alone does not confirm fit.

If there is no match

A model outside our catalog is not necessarily incompatible with a filter; it means we have not established an answer for it. Try the full filter number if your appliance model has no match. The optional photo tool can help read a label, but an uncertain number needs confirmation before lookup. It is not a guarantee that a photo will identify your filter.
