Why this filter
How this compares
This is a checked replacement, not a Best Overall or Best Value winner yet. Before choosing a winner, we need other filters we can trust, a fair comparison of how they work and how reliable they are, and current prices including shipping.
Filtration tests and details
These records explain which filter results we have checked and what their limits are. The same certification name does not mean two filters work equally well.
What we have verified about filtration
We have not yet verified the exact model's health-related contaminant reductions against a current independent certification listing. Manufacturer claims alone do not establish that this filters better than another option.

Installation and care
Installing the replacement
LG describes twist-in installation without tools. Follow your refrigerator instructions.
Caring for the filters
LG says to replace this cartridge every six months, when the reminder appears, or sooner if water or ice output drops noticeably. After fitting it, flush 2.5 gallons (about five minutes), check for leaks, and hold Filter Reset for three seconds. Follow your refrigerator manual for access and fitting. Use only safe, cold drinking water and protect the filter from freezing. LG lists 20–120 psi and 33–100°F; pressure above 80 psi needs pressure control. Ask a plumbing professional if unsure.
